Revenue Manager, Accounting at Inmar, Inc. in Winston Salem, North Carolina

Job Description:

This person will need strong interpersonal skills and to work well with cross-functional teams to resolve complex revenue accounting issues. This position requires a problem solver who thrives in a fast paced, challenging environment.

Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions


  • Develop, implement, and manage revenue related accounting policies and procedures


  • Develop standard revenue recognition policies and procedures for all combined Inmar companies that are in accordance with US GAAP. Ensure the company is in compliance.


  • Participates and manages the month-end revenue close process, which includes the preparation and review of supporting detail schedules to facilitate WIP, Deferred Revenue, applicable cost of services journal entries and reconciliation of assigned accounts.



  • Perform in-depth analysis on various financial accounts and statements, both balance sheet and income statement to ensure all transactions are accounted for properly (i.e. Work in Process, client billback expenses, etc.)


  • Develop value added management reports and dashboard to support revenue analysis and tracking of key metrics.


  • Key member of a cross functional team to enhance/automate billing and revenue recognition processes.


  • Manage revenue accounting team, which include supervising, training and developing associates to ensure the accurate and timely, revenue recognition and COGS recognition for the company.


  • Assist with preparing annual budget and quarterly forecasts for revenue and applicable cost of services


Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) with a major in accounting, finance or related field


  • 3-5 years prior accounts receivable experience


  • Prior supervisory experience required.


  • At least 5 years general accounting experience 


 Required Knowledge Of:


  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and financial accounting concepts


  • Standard office practices and accounting procedures on automated systems


  • Computer systems and equipment as well as report generation


  • Intermediate-level Excel skills as well as familiarity with other Microsoft Office products


  • ·Business English composition, spelling, punctuation


  • Analytical aptitude – strong problem solving skills; math aptitude
