Job Description:

DESCRIPTION

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Operations Manager is responsible for hiring and training KCN staff, insuring compliance with policies and procedures and act as the liaison for the on-site staff, customers, and Keefe Commissary Network for assigned territory and on-site locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Posses full working knowledge of the KCN Best Business Practices Guide
* Have an understanding of Centric Group policies and benefits (attendance, medical, vacation, etc.)
* Work with Regional Vice President to improve labor efficiencies at assigned KCN operations
* Monthly review of the KCN Account Analysis with the KCN Regional Vice President on all warehouse and non-warehouse labor
* Full working knowledge of AS400 programs and inventory controls
* Assist the KCN Regional/Group Vice President in the managing of the new account start-ups and schedules by:
-Manage the hiring of new staff
-Verify all applications, drug tests, and new hire packets are properly completed, given to Regional/Group V.P. for approval, and forwarded to KCN Corporate/Centric Group
-Train new staff on AS400 software, inventory, and company policies
-Train the on-site supervisor/manager on proper inventory control, including all procedures and reports in the BBPG
-Implement policies for credits, damaged product, out of date product and returns
-Assist the Account Manager in the counting and inventory of customer buyback
-Instruct on-site staff on KCN and Facility security/safety procedures, notifying KCN management if there are conflicts with the Facilities policies/procedures
* Provide follow up training, on-going support and assistance to all on-site managers and staff
* All reviews for on-site and regional managers and manage the review process with the on-site managers and their staff
* Establish monthly reports and reporting features
* Assist in the accuracy and submission of weekly time sheets for payroll for all on-site staff
* Present information to analyze the profitability, costs and operational issues of prospective accounts
* Prepare weekly status reports
* Complete miscellaneous duties/projects as assigned by KCN Regional/Group V.P.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This positions has supervisory and non-supervisory direct reports including Regional Commissary Managers and Commissary On-Site Staff.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
* Valid driver s license
* Posses DOC ID pass

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
* Must be a self-starter who can work well with people at all levels both in and out of KCN Organization in a professional manner.
* Requires strong supervisory skills: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
* Ability to implement standard management practices.
* Ability to work in a correctional environment.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to define problems and resolve them quickly.
* Ability to work well with ever changing priorities and situations.
* Excellent organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently or within a team.
* Familiarity with inventory management.
* Familiarity with computers (including Microsoft Office programs).

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
* Ability to travel on a weekly basis within assigned territory
* Warehouse managerial or supervisory experience a plus
* Must pass drug screening test
