Agilent Technologies is seeking a Biological Manufacturing Engineer for its growing life sciences manufacturing operation located in Folsom, California. Agilent's laboratory consumables business is an industry leader in innovation, market share and performance. Agilent is seeking energetic, motivated individuals with demonstrated skills in engineering, process development, teamwork and communication.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience working in a fast-paced, high-throughput, leading-edge manufacturing facility, producing products used world-wide for ensuring quality and compliance in such areas as: diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, research and others.

As a member of the Order Fulfillment and Supply Chain team, the Biological Manufacturing Engineer will:


* Assist in the troubleshooting, development and validation of new and existing procedures, assays and enzyme products and processes.
* Perform protein purification and analysis as well as characterization of enzymatic activity and purity suitability for sale.


* Supports process scale up activities and executes on projects to ensure profitable business growth. Projects to include utilization of new technologies to improve process control.
* Automation of manual operations including kitting, buffer prep and dispensing.
* Develops continuous improvement plans for manufacturing operations and consults on implementation of III suggestions.


* Properly documents experimental work to allow the efficient recovery of experimental data.
* Collates data, prepares presentations, technical reports, summaries, procedures and protocols.
* Assists in the transfer of developmental product production protocols into manufacturing.
* May also assist in training of production personnel in newly developed manufacturing processes.

Works and collaborates with Production, Marketing and QA Departments on new product development.

Qualifications :


* Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry or a similar discipline.
* 2+ years' experience in the areas of protein purification, assay and product development.

What will make you stand out:


* Experienced with analytical tools such as: FPLC, Spectrometry, LC, Electrophoretic techniques (such as SDS-PAGE or BioAnalyzer, EMSA)


* Knowledge of plasmon resonance, HPLC or UPLC
* Experience working within a Quality System including QSR or ISO9000


* Experience in writing SOPs or manufacturing procedures or product literature
* Experience in using statistical methods
