Responsibilities:

The Dispatcher-EMT is responsible for answering 9-1-1 telephone calls and other telephone calls, screening them according to the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) ProQA system and dispatching the appropriate resources. The Dispatcher-EMT will utilize a Computer Aided Dispatch system, radio communications system, and telephone system to communicate with units in the field, update their status on assignment, and ensure the safety of all personnel. This position requires superior communication skills and customer service skills.

Qualifications:

The required certifications are:

__High School diploma or equivalent, Associates Degree preferred

__NJ or NY or PA or National Registry EMT

__PHTLS/ITLS preferred

__American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)

__IAED or APCO or NECI Basic Telecommunicator (BTC)

__IAED Emergency Medical Dispatcher-Advanced (EMD-A)

__HAZMAT Awareness

__CBRNE/WMD Awareness

__ICS 100

__ICS 200

__NIMS 700

__ICS 800
