POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, and according to general policies and procedures, the patient safety coordinator supports the patient safety department in the maintenance of the grievance process and the execution of the sentinel event analyses to improve patients and visitor safety and overall quality of care.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIREMENTS:

LICENSURE/ CERTIFICATION/ REGISTRATION:

* Current State of California Registered Nurse licensure

EDUCATION:

* Minimum Bachelor's degree in Nursing

EXPERIENCE:

* 3 to 5 years experience in a healthcare setting required
* Minimum of 2 years experience with healthcare patient safety or risk management preferred.

SKILLS

* Analytical skills necessary in order to handle non routine, moderately complex administrative details.
* Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
* Computer literate with in-depth knowledge, experience to operate word processing, data bases, graphics and spreadsheets.
* Ability to work independently, exercise judgement and maintain a high level of professional conduct.
