POSITION SUMMARY:

The Staff Radiologic Technologist's primary function is to obtain medical radiographs in a hospital setting, as well being responsible for delivering high quality care while obtaining correctly positioned and adequately exposed radiographs and for keeping current with new technology. The technologist shall assist the Radiologist or physician, as necessary. He/She is expected to be competent in transporting patients and assisting in registration of patients. He/She is expected to be competent in processing, copying and releasing of radiology images and CDs. May be asked to assist the Radiologist or physician to assist in invasive procedures. The Technologist may be asked to do vital signs, prepare and assist in the administration of contrast media. Is responsible for patient and medical record confidentiality and for maintaining a clean, and safe working environment. Assist staff and personnel from other departments when needed with regards to radiology protocol and procedures. Interacts with physicians with regard to department procedures and protocol. Maintains department in a presentable manner.

QUALIFICATIONS POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
LICENSURE/ CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:

Certified by the state of California for Radiography required.
*

Certified by the state of California for Fluoroscopy required.
*

Registration through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is preferred.
*

Current American Heart Association BCLS certification required.

EDUCATION:

* Technologist must be current with continuing education requirements.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

* Ability to work independently.

* Knowledge of asepsis.

* Ability to identify problems, generate and analyze feasible solutions and choose an optimum course of action.

* Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

* Strong interpersonal skills that reflect a positive attitude and a sense of teamwork.
