Spec Engineering is seeking an impact player and difference maker to join our team as a Field Technician who can use their fabrication, assembly, and welding experience to install our deliverables. Spec Engineering is a privately held, fast growing, and stable full-service process engineering firm with our main office located in Plainfield Il, and a second location in Chicago. Base Compensation range: $15-$19 hourly

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support a safe work environment in the shop.


• Practice safety measures when performing mechanical assemble, fabrication, and moving of equipment.


• Support the cleanliness of the shop.


• Support the organization of the shop.


• Supports the preparation of shipments for customers.


• Fabrication of frames, transitions, and parts.


• Oversees piping aspects of projects.


• Assembly of systems and skid packages.


• Works in field for install projects.

Initiative – Ability to recognize duties that need completion and execute them without being asked. Willingness to do more, learn new skills, and refine existing abilities. Jump in to assist unassigned projects when necessary.

Attention to Detail – Recognize mistakes and take action to correct them. Strong observational skills and asking questions to ensure all levels of detail are considered. Help develop product quality control procedures.

Education/Experience: 10 years in shop fabrication or piping systems

Certificates and Licenses:  Forklift certified preferred
