Retail Mortgage Loan Closer at S&T Bank in Indiana, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

Work Days and Expected Hours:

Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

(Additional hours as necessary to meet the objectives of the department).

Function: Performs various closing, post-closing and shipping functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares closing documents assuring documents meet all required state, federal and S&T guidelines.


• Prepares and delivers an accurate Closing Disclosures to Borrowers in a timely manner.


• Contacts settlement agents for required fees needed to prepare the Closing Disclosure.


• Schedules closing dates with settlement agents.


• Reviews title policies for accuracy and completeness. 


• Contacts originators to obtain status of outstanding prior to scheduling conditions listed on the conditional and/or final commitment letters. 


• Resolves closing issues with settlement agents, processors, originators, etc.


• Co-ordinates escrow balance transfers and resolves escrow issues with escrow personnel in LSC.


• Contacts insurance agents for proof of homeowner’s insurance.  Reviews the insurance dec page for compliance.


• Assists post closers and LSC personnel in with any file documentation issues.     


• Maintains a good working relationship with bank employees.  Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently.  Is motivated to work as a team player to contribute to the success of the department and in turn, the organization.


• Performs additional duties as required.

Physical Demands

Operates a keypad device: 75% of the day; operated office equipment: 5% of the day.  The primary parts of the body involved in performing these tasks are the fingers, thumbs, hands, wrists, elbows.  The job requires an average amount of body movements.  Sitting is required six or more hours per day in a leaning position.  Requires the use of manual dexterity skills for both typing and filing on frequent basis up to 60% of the business day.  Must be able to focus visually at a close distance of 18”-20” for a period of up to 40% of the business day.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
