Have a direct impact

The Canvas LMS Administrator will be at the heart of ensuring our LMS technical setup, data, and processes will scale to meet demand. This role will lead the creation of operations related to the maintenance and enhancement of Carruss Canvas LMS administration. Learning, creating and implementing best practices for change control, scheduled deployments, data integrations, testing & QA, and more, will be critical to the success of this role. You are our expert on how to scale with the business needs.

The ideal candidate has a background in operations or I.T., is tech-savvy, and has strong client relationship management and project management skills. The LMS Admin provides consulting and guidance to the Learner Experience (LX) team on best practices for implementing and sustaining successful adoption and utilization of the Canvas LMS platform.

A day in the life

50% Business Requirements & Operations


  • Proactively initiates and manages understanding business operations and goals


  • Proactively initiates and manages gathering business and technical requirements and acceptance criteria


  • Creates solid documentation to ensure requirements are captured and all stakeholders approve


  • Creates solid project plans with deliverables, timelines and metrics


  • Conducts trainings with internal business users to ensure full understanding and proper usage of tools


  • Works with all operations groups to ensure processes will capture necessary data points and scale to meet business needs

40% Administrative/Technical Duties


  • Works directly in Canvas LMS to create and manage administrative best practices related to user creation and permissions


  • Works directly in Canvas LMS to build accounts, sub-accounts, branding, and administrative settings for the platform


  • Works directly in Canvas Catalog to create and manage administrative best practices related to user creation, permissions, API functions, and integrations with Canvas LMS


  • Consistently improves both system and operations performance by integrating business processes related to Learner Experience (LX), Customer Experience (CX), and the operations teams


  • Ensures functionality of Canvas LMS and Canvas Catalog meets expectations and commitments


  • Works with technical stakeholders to ensure both upstream and downstream system integrations and data flow function as expected.

10% Data & Performance Metrics


  • Generates and delivers monthly insights to the Operations management team with the goal of rapidly improving system and process performance


  • Gathers data from both system and non-system sources to continually improve monthly metrics and insights


  • Performs other duties as assigned

Youll be successful in this role if you have

Education/Experience


  • 3+ years experience in administration of Canvas LMS or similar


  • Familiarity with building course content in Canvas LMS


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, MIS or similar


  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and C# a plus
