The Systems Engineer with data science focus is in the R&D function supporting development of electromechanical continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices. The role will involve all aspects of the R&D process, including data gathering, analysis, theory and parametric system model development through to validation for regulatory submissions.

About - Diabetes Business Group

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Be the primary lead on analysis of data obtained from bench top and in vivo feasibility studies from continuous glucose monitoring systems and digital health devices.


  • Drive the technical direction of data gathering and data analytics for the development of next generation glucose sensing systems.


  • Be responsible to create protocols for glucose sensor feasibility study development as well as working with various engineering teams to collect and/or compile algorithm/model input data from the feasibility studies


  • Be involved in all aspects of the R&D process, including data gathering, process, analysis, and algorithm development through to validation for regulatory submission


  • Use technical knowledge of signal processing and machine learning methodologies to extract value from large datasets


  • Prepare the data for system modeling analysis and assist with parametric system model development, results analysis, and model validation

    Must Have: Minimum Requirements


    BASIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


    IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, THE FOLLOWING BASIC QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE EVIDENT ON YOUR RESUME


    Bachelors degree required


    Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience


    NICE TO HAVE:



  • Experience with Agile and scrum processes, version control, and code reviews


  • Experience collaborating with a software team using Git and JIRA.


  • Experience in statistical and/or signals analysis in Python.


  • Coursework and/or experience in digital signal processing for audio, ECG, PPG, or other biomarkers.


  • Coursework and/or experience in feature extraction, machine learning algorithms, or artificial intelligence.


  • Experience with MATLAB and MATLAB's Simulink


  • Experience capturing architectures, system designs, or product definitions and writing technical documentation


  • Experience in technical design techniques such as use cases and functional analysis


  • Experience with statistical tools and methods


  • Experience working in a regulated industry such as medical device, defense, or automotive.
