Job Summary


Community Based Research Institute is seeking a CBRI Student Research Assistant to join their team of professionals. The position will assists in the day-to-day research activities of the Research Center in Minority Institutions (RCMI)-funded pilot studies. Supports pilot awardees with administrative and research needs related to their pilot projects. Assists Investigator Development Core investigators and staff on programmatic needs related to the implementation of Core activities. Communicates effectively and efficiently with other RCMI Cores and their staff, especially the Administrative Core.
- Assists pilot awardees with administrative tasks, such as travel authorizations, and purchases related to their RCMI-funded projects.
- Assists pilot awardees with research tasks, such as preparation, formatting and proofing of study materials including recruitment flyers, questionnaires, etc.
- Assists pilot awardees in data storage, management, and cleaning, as needed.
- Coordinates recruitment events, and schedules participant interviews, as needed by pilot awardees.
- Assists pilot awardees in preparation, formatting, and proofing of presentations, manuscripts and literature reviews.
- Assists Core investigators and staff on programmatic needs of the core, particularly those related to the management, coordination and implementation of pilot studies.
- Participates in monthly pilot awardee meetings with the Core team members.
- Coordinates and schedules meetings as needed, including with the existing pilot award cohort.
- Performs other related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications


Upper classmen.

Departmental Requirements
Be available for work until June 30, 2021.

Desired Qualifications


Master's student in Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, Molecular Biology, Physical Therapy, Bioengineering or closely related field or 1 year of research experience as undergraduate. Fluency in Spanish may be required for some positions. Ability to work in a team. Strong organization skills and attention to detail. Laboratory work may be required for some positions.
