Idaho National Laboratory s (INL) Vehicle Repair team is hiring a Vehicle Repair Speicalist (Mechanic) to join the team! This individual will be based out of our Central Facilities Area (CFA) approximately 1 hour from Idaho Falls and work a 4-10 schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
* Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on buses, light vehicles, heavy trucks, and construction equipment, i.e., cranes, backhoes, dozers, trucks, trailers, gas welders, compressors, sedans, light duty pickups, etc. performance will include but not be limited to diagnostics, adjustment, and repair or replacement as necessary to maintain the specified equipment in an acceptable manner.
* Repair will include, but is not limited to, complete overhauls of internal combustion engines, drive trains, electric and electronic systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, brakes, and air conditioning systems.
* Assist in the conversion, maintenance, and repair of alternate fuel vehicles and fuel systems.
* Assist with product development initiatives.
* Maintain an active role in all ISMS and VPP programs and initiatives.
* Must have 5 years of diesel/automotive mechanic related experience in a fleet similar to the INL OR a Vo-Tec degree in automotive/diesel repair and 4 years experience in a fleet similar to the INL
