POSITION SUMMARY

The role assures minimum impact on the facility operations and demonstrates good environmental stewardship in order to assist with the delivery of, production targets and maintain compliance with Group Practices as defined in the Hess Operational Excellence Expectations.

As a member of a multi-discipline team the Topsides Control Room Operator, the following are key to the role:

* Operates and maintains topsides process, subsea equipment and utilities systems in a safe and competent manner.

* Is self-motivated, self-managed and engaged in the planning process.

* Demonstrates to peers and PSV, ownership of the facility equipment and systems.

PRINCIPLE FUNCTION / KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Primary Role:

* Demonstrate a high level of knowledge and understanding around Personal and Process Safety.

* Strive every day to ensure any work undertaken personally or by co-workers is done with a driven purpose to eliminate or reduce risk from the workplace.

* Ensure operations are completed in accordance with regulatory requirements, company controls and guidelines.

* Contribute to the safe and efficient operations through competent operations and maintenance of process systems and associated equipment.

* Perform all duties with a high degree of professional and operational awareness, and demonstrate the ability to lead at all times to ensure a safe work environment, while in full compliance with all company policies and government regulations.

* Maintain the capability to operate, monitor and adjust production, utility, safety and control systems and equipment which includes:

* Production and Injection (well fluid flow and pressures)

* Subsea Infrastructors (flowlines, umbilicals, manifolds and SCM s)

* Separation Processes (separators, degasser, oil treater)

* Produced Water Systems

* Crude Oil-to-Export (LACT, buy back, dry oil)

* Gas Compression (booster gas, flash gas, dehydration, vapor recovery, gas lift, buy-back)

* Process Support Systems (instrument air, chemicals, heating/cooling, seawater, power generation, flares)

* Safety Systems (ICSS, PCS, ESS, PSS, fire/gas detection, lifesaving)

EHS & Regulatory Compliance

* Comply with the Bureau Safety Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) and United States Coast Guard (USCG) regulations.

* Demonstrate a personal leadership in process and occupational safety at all times.

* Review, understand and utilize the GoM Safe Practices Manual to identify the hazards risk assessment level.

* Identify Sources of Energy and all hazards associated with them.

* Understand how to identify hazard risk assessment levels.

* Put controls in place to eliminate or mitigate the hazards associated with work tasks.

* Ensure compliance with Hess Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards and practices as defined within the Hess EHS & SR Management System.

* Understand and manage work related risk, in order to prevent accidents and harm to people, to reduce damage to the environment and protect the facility, achieve competitive performance.

* Perform the duties of an Issuing Authority (IA) and/or Performing Authority (PA) in compliance with Hess Permit to Work system and according to competency level.

Production and Technical Integrity Performance

* Manage day-to-day operational priorities, taking direct instruction from the Production Supervisor to maintain integrity of the facilities and production optimization.

* Report potential process safety and operational optimization issues to the appropriate level.

* Complete all maintenance routines as defined by planned maintenance (PM) schedules and procedures.

* Ensure all CMMS data relating to topside/subsea equipment, including defects, is recorded and used as required.

* Monitor the preparation and status of isolations conducted and permits issued in compliance with HESS Permit to Work system.

* Report any activity to the production team leader that could impact production.

* Monitor and record all key operational parameters and report any anomalies in a timely manner, with particular attention to subsea equipment, flow rates, chemical pumps, MeOH systems, vessels etc.

* Ensure maintenance and participate in the testing of all subsea and topsides equipment as needed, such as wellheads, safety valves, vessel end devises, pig launchers, receivers, etc.

* Comply with WIN PCS as required, for all maintenance work prior to operation.

* Maintain and record a daily log of process inhibits-review daily with the Production Supervisor.

Operations Excellence

* Actively participate in the Hess Lean Continuous Improvement (CI) process, striving to improve operating and run-time efficiency.

* Interfaces with the wells community for optimization and performance trending of the Subsea Producing/Injection Wells and systems including Gas lift and Flowline optimization.

* Participate in root-cause failure investigations as required to prevent future occurrences and help identify \\"trigger events\\" as failure causes.

* Ensure the technical integrity of instrument equipment and maintenance standards, recommending changes to the maintenance strategy, policy and procedures as required and in compliance with the Management of Change (MOC) process.

* Fully engage and comply with the System Ownership plan.

* Inform supervisors of any maintenance activities that could potentially have a negative impact on production

* Be aware of and challenge all maintenance and consumable costs incurred within the operations teams control room activities.

* Actively engage in coaching and share technical knowledge with team members.

Performance

* Regularly review personal performance objectives and progress with your PSV supervisor.

* Jointly agree upon personal performance objectives with the PSV and implement / maintain management and career development to improve and enhance contribution to the overall team and safety of the facility and operation.

* Interact closely with the topside and subsea operator, automation, instrumentation, maintenance technicians and marine personnel.
