Responsibilities
The Senior Clinical Research Coordinator (Sr. CRC) provides administrative leadership of research trials and related studies in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases. provides an advanced-level working knowledge and leadership of clinical trial management activities in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases. This Sr. CRC is responsible for using advanced-level knowledge and skills to independently initiate, coordinate, direct and follow through in the overall administration and outcome of one or more clinical studies. Provides leadership for a division-wide clinical research program, including overseeing junior clinical research coordinators and/or other support personnel.

Required Qualifications

* SoCRA or ACRP certification

* Thorough knowledge and understanding of FDA regulations, ICH guidelines, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), federal and Institutional Review Board guidelines

* Experience coordinating a broad range of activities from inception to implementation within the confines of strict study protocols, University and departmental policies and procedures

* Working knowledge of federal, state, and university regulations for conducting research on human subjects

* Experience independently organizing tasks and set priorities for work assignments to achieve timely progress on multiple tasks simultaneously, to meet deadlines and maintain a high level of productivity

* Organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining large volumes of records

* Advanced-level knowledge and understanding of basic anatomy and medical terminology, as applied to clinical research

* Experience working with computer systems and databases, including Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, electronic medical records, and electronic data capture systems for clinical research.

* Experience independently organizing tasks and set priorities for work assignments to achieve timely progress on multiple tasks simultaneously

* Experience using analytical and problem solving skills for the identification and resolution of problems in a logical, timely, and often creative manner while maintaining the integrity of study protocols and legalities defined by the University, departmental and study policies and procedures

* Ability to become certified in the safe handling of biological specimens by compliance with local training requirements and use of safe practices

* Ability to become certified in the transport of dangerous goods per IATA regulations

* Able to work overtime and flexible hours when required (evenings, weekends)

* Able to travel off-site to meetings
