Our Tyler hospital is seeking an experienced Chef de Cuisine. We are looking for your experience, knowledge and patient care skills in our Food Services Department where you will be responsible for:

What You Will Be Doing:

* Responsible for ordering, production of, delivery, and presentation of food for all Food Service Locations within UTHET Tyler. Responsible for production sheets for all areas of food production. Plans for meal service through knowledge of meal planning, food and supply products, culinary expertise, budget allowances, and production skills to meet meal production needs.

* Provides good customer service by utilizing good communication skills and technical knowledge to ensure UTHET and departmental objectives are maintained.

* Supervises production staff, production supervisor, stock room staff, dish room staff. Executes personnel management of assigned production staff through knowledge of UTHET policies and procedures, Federal, State and local labor laws and human relations skills to assure a high level of employee productivity, morale and retention.

* Represents the department in a professional manner by recognizing that everyone who enters UTHET is a valued customer.

* Maintains clean and sanitary work area utilizing appropriate resources and techniques to provide safe food in a clean and sanitary environment.

* Assures compliance with our HACCP policy.

* Participates in performance improvement activities through the evaluation of products, standards, procedures and services to improve department resource utilization, operations and to increase patient satisfaction.

So what experience are we looking for in our Production Manager Position?

* Bachelor's degree in healthcare food service management or related field, or Associates Degree with 3 Years Food Service Supervisory experience. Six years of previous food service or related field supervisory experience may be substituted for educational requirements.

* 1-year experience in food service management required.

* 1-year experience in healthcare food service management preferred.

* Tyler/Smith County Public Health District Food Training Certificate

* ServSafe or other similar certificate that meets TDH specifications preferred.

* Math skills needed to adjust recipes, cost out menus and to total counts

* Calculator

* Basic computer skills

* Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. Requires standing, lifting, bending, stooping or performing other work requiring light physical exertion on an occasional basis and frequent walking or moderate physical exertion on an intermittent basis.

* Frequent exposure to heat and intermittent exposure to extreme cold and wet floors and continuous exposure to extreme noise. Work involves frequent exposure to unpleasant working conditions or undesirable elements; may involve to a variety of elements which are potentially hazardous or harmful which require exercise of well-defined precautions for protection from injury or illness.
