POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
ï,§ Able to perform all essential Solar Technician I job responsibilities
ï,§ Perform solar equipment testing, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of solar equipment and systems with minimal or no supervision
ï,§ Perform testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems on solar equipment and systems with minimal or no supervision
ï,§ Perform maintenance and diagnostic responsibilities utilizing system monitoring applications
ï,§ Accurately account for time and material costs expended in the performance of job responsibilities
ï,§ Operate service equipment safely and maintain required records related to equipment/systems
ï,§ Provide on-call service at assigned solar facilities
ï,§ Understand, follow and communicate safety regulations and work procedures
ï,§ Supervise and provide ongoing training for Solar Technician Level I employees
ï,§ Prepare accurate documentation and required reports of work performed
ï,§ Complete other responsibilities as assigned
MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
ï,§ High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or equivalent
ï,§ Associates Degree or Certificate in Electronics/Mechanics
ï,§ Minimum two years of experience in the solar and/or other related industry
ï,§ Valid OSHA 10 certification
ï,§ Valid NFPA 70e Safety Training certification
ï,§ Demonstrated ability to recognize work hazards and mitigate using proper tools and procedures
ï,§ Demonstrated ability to identify energized and de-energized electrical parts, identify all incoming power sources, and safely de-energize sources before beginning work
ï,§ Demonstrated ability to identify and perform effective Lock Out/Tag Out of energized parts/systems
ï,§ Demonstrated understanding of safe electrical and mechanical practices
ï,§ Demonstrated knowledge of electrical testing and troubleshooting equipment
ï,§ Basic working knowledge of solar systems/plants, protection devices, control devices, power supplies, loads, conductors, inverters and transformers
ï,§ Ability to troubleshoot network and telemetry issues
ï,§ Ability to read and understand basic schematics and technical data, including interpretation of operations manuals/instructions for specific solar equipment
ï,§ Basic computer operation skills and ability to operate system monitoring applications
ï,§ Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions
ï,§ Effective verbal and written English language communication skills
ï,§ Effective organizational skills
ï,§ Ability to work at remote locations in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, inclement weather)
ï,§ Ability to work on an on call basis (may include weekends or after hours situations)
ï,§ Valid drivers license, satisfactory driving record and ability to operate company vehicle
