Job Description:

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
ï,§ Able to perform all essential Solar Technician II job responsibilities
ï,§ Direct and supervise site maintenance, repair, troubleshooting as directed by management
ï,§ Perform site maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and energized electrical work strictly adhering to company and industry safety standards
ï,§ Direct equipment repair using existing electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic
ï,§ Perform maintenance in accordance with company directives or authorized service documents
ï,§ Ensure a safe working environment through strict adherence to and enforcement of company and industry safety standards
ï,§ Implement repairs to unfamiliar solar equipment, systems and plants with a minimum amount of training and familiarization safely.
ï,§ Understand, follow and communicate safety regulations and work procedures
ï,§ Supervise, provide ongoing training and certify Solar Technician Level I and II employees
ï,§ Prepare timely and accurate documentation and required reports related to site operation
ï,§ Complete other responsibilities as assigned

MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
ï,§ High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or equivalent
ï,§ Associates Degree or Certificate in Electronics/Mechanics
ï,§ Minimum four years of experience in solar facility maintenance and repair
ï,§ Valid OSHA 30 certification
ï,§ Valid NFPA 70e Safety Training certification
ï,§ Valid Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification
ï,§ Demonstrated ability to recognize work hazards and mitigate using proper tools and procedures
ï,§ Demonstrated ability to work alone and safety under any conditions
ï,§ Advanced working knowledge of solar systems/plants, protection devices, control devices, power supplies, loads, conductors, inverters and transformers
ï,§ Ability to troubleshoot network and telemetry issues
ï,§ Ability to pass an exam on international and domestic electrical schematics and symbols
ï,§ Ability to pass an exam on electrical troubleshooting
ï,§ Ability to pass an exam on reading and interpreting hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams
ï,§ Effective computer operation skills and ability to operate system monitoring applications
ï,§ Effective verbal and written English language communication skills
ï,§ Effective organizational skills
ï,§ Ability to work at remote locations in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, inclement weather)
ï,§ Ability to work on an on call basis (may include weekends or after hours situations)
ï,§ Valid drivers license, satisfactory driving record and ability to operate company vehicle
