Position Description

Primary duties and responsibilities of the RCS General Laborer include, but are not limited to the following:
Assists in proper care and handling of batteries; inspect, conduct joint inventory, properly load batteries in contact trucks; deliver batteries to assigned grid positions; exchange batteries on a 1 for 1 basis; use appropriate government forms to issue and receive batteries when required. Participate in the 24-hour operation procedures in the collection of vehicle MILES at the Logistical Transfer Control Point (LTCP) otherwise known as 5 Corners. Must be capable of working both day and night shifts as scheduled; must train and become proficient in military map reading including deciphering and encoding locations using the Military Grid Reference System; must become proficient in military communications procedures including using the phonetic alphabet and understanding call signs, pro-words, and acronyms.

Required: High School or equivalent diploma; must be able to speak clearly and calmly while using radio communication systems; must be able to work on the Fort Polk Military Installation and have working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office programs.

Desired Experience: at least 3 months experience with RCS, proficiency in military map reading.
Additional Requirements: Must be in good physical condition capable of prolonged standing and walking up to 3 miles over uneven terrain; must be able to lift and carry up to 45 lbs; must be able to work irregular hour shifts; length of shifts may vary up to 12 hours as required by the JRTC; must be able to travel unaccompanied throughout the continental US and foreign countries; must possess a valid Louisiana State Driver's License (or other state equivalent). Individual will be subject to pre-employment drug screening.
