Summary of Major Responsibilities

The Supply Chain and Logistics Associate II will assist in a variety of Materials Management, Warehouse, and Inventory Control functions, including, but not limited to, planning and vetting requirements purchase requisition creation, receiving, receiving inspection, Kanban management, SAP inventory management, packaging, shipping, inventory cycle counting, internal inventory requests, and distribution of goods and supplies. This position will work within defined protocols and procedures as well as establish and document site specific processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Receive, verify, inspect, inventory incoming materials, deliver goods, or coordinate pickup of materials, as needed.
  • Facilitate shipment of outgoing materials or products through the coordination of inventory and paperwork, as needed.

  • Maintain inventory and associated records for raw materials, intermediates, disposables, consumables, reagents, and spare parts.

  • Review inventory levels and assess Kanban target levels to identify materials needs.

  • Work with Lab Staff to define use per sample requirements.

  • Provide weekly inventory related status reports.

  • Submit purchase requisitions to maintain designated inventory levels per established stocking strategy.

  • Provide support for inventory control of non-conforming materials; including initiating non-confirming material reports, as needed, and segregating materials with appropriate labeling until final disposition and the paperwork is closed. Ability to handle products using material handling equipment.

  • Follow applicable standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the processing of materials in SAP and through the Receiving Inspection system; label materials accordingly.

  • Contact appropriate person/department with receipt details, as applicable.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve inventory and receipt discrepancies while coordinating with procurement and finance teams for resolution.

  • Initiate freight claims process by documenting all problems noticed in the initial inspection; including pictures, notations on Bill of Ladings, driver’s notation, and notations on packing slips.

  • Initiate process improvements and improvement projects following the required change control processes and coordinates activities across departments; including the Receiving Inspection Method document (RIM) review.

  • Support all departments within the organization by pulling the correct inventory for use, following the proper state shipping guidelines, and processing in SAP for shipment.

  • Package and process materials to be shipped in a manner consistent with IATA, DOT, and International Customs regulations; label packages accordingly, and ensure the proper paperwork accompanies each shipment.

  • Remain current on dangerous goods shipping.

  • Provide training to new employees in areas of expertise, as needed.

  • Call carriers to arrange for pickups or facilitate with in-house representatives.

  • File or disseminate all receiving and shipping documents to the appropriate person/location adhering to the record of retention policy.

  • Document data related to department key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Participate in projects relating to continuous improvement as an individual contributor or team member.

  • Ability to accurately follow procedures with minimal direction.

  • Ability to work effectively in team situations, cross-functionally, as well as independently.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 65% of a typical working day.

  • Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.

  • Ability to work in a warehouse for extended periods of time, operating pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.

  • Ability to work with hazardous or flammable materials (e.g., chemicals, electrical equipment, etc.) so as not to endanger oneself or others.

  • Ability to work at elevated heights.

  • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.

  • Ability to travel 5% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications


  • Associates degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field; or High School Degree/General Education Diploma and 2 years of experience in a warehouse/laboratory setting or operations role in lieu of Associates degree.

  • 2+ years of experience in a warehouse setting or operations role of a similar capacity.

  • 1+ year of experience with Warehouse Management/ERP systems.

  • Possession or ability to obtain and maintain a forklift certification.

  • Proficient computer skills to include Internet navigation, email usage, and word processing.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, and specifically ability to do vlookups and pivot tables.

  • Possession of a valid driver's license, no more than two moving violations in the past 36 months, and no unresolved license revocation or suspension issues.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a biotech manufacturing environment; preferably in a GMP and/or ISO13485 environment.
