Job Description:

A 250-bed San Francisco Bay Area Medical Center is seeking a Infection Control Manager to join their world class healthcare organization. 

Utilizing epidemiological methods, the Infection Control Manager will report directly to the Director of Quality and Patient Safety and will manage a team of 4 Infection Control Practitioners. 

The Manager Infection Control will collaborate with a team of nursing directors, overseeing this Non Profit Medical Center, which has been serving the community for over 50 years. 

The Manager of Infection Prevention and Control will coordinate infection surveillance, education, administrative, and control measures to assure that the transmission risks and complications of infections and infectious diseases are minimized to medical center clients, personnel, and visitors. 

In this role, the Manager of Infection Control will be required to manage and maintain responsibilities including statistician, educator, consultant, improvement coordinator, and evaluator of practice. The Infection Prevention Manager will be conversant with the infection hazards of all patient care services in order to be able to recommend and evaluate the effect of prevention strategies.

With the emphasis on improvement and publicly reported data the Infection Control Manager will possess a heightened ability to provide statistical analysis of data, be knowledgeable regarding NHSN data management and evaluate and implement prevention strategies. The Manager Infection Prevention and Control must hold a Certification in Infection Control (CIC), and a degree in nursing, epidemiology, microbiology or public health.
