Position Overview

We are looking for a Vice President to grow our Wind market. This an exciting opportunity to build our onshore wind programs and expand our wind business offshore. The Area Manager will have the opportunity create the business plan, develop team and lead the construction of landmark projects which will impact society for generations to come.

District Overview

Kiewit Power Delivery (KPD) provides direct-hire construction services for Power Delivery Services utilizing organized and open shop labor force. Kiewit Power Delivery throughout North America currently consists of Transmission & Distribution, Wind and Solar Projects. All of Kiewit Power is committed to Kiewit's Nobody Gets Hurt Philosophy.

Location

This position is based out of one of Kiewits hubs and require at least 50% travel.

Responsibilities


  • Develop a vision and strategic plan for the Wind Division of the Power business unit to lead and expand onshore and offshore Wind market

  • Provide oversight and be accountable for the Wind pursuits / projects, both on the get work and build work side and ensure business needs are valid and correctly prioritized

  • Serves as the primary client relationship manager, who builds long-term relationships with new and existing clients to generate new business opportunities.

  • Track business performance and project progress and be responsible for profit and losses of the division

  • Provide expertise for Wind initiative, selling and marketing the area throughout the organization

  • Oversee the whole project management process from approving project deliverables to initiating project reviews and ensure risk are continuously assessed and mitigated

  • Provide contract review and coordination with legal department and executive management

  • Identify potential conflicts or issues and facilitate solutions to meet client's needs

  • Establish structure of the organization then recruit, train, and manage the Wind team to ensure business needs are met

  • Oversight and Collaboration during the Preconstruction, Estimating, and proposal development process for new and existing business opportunities.

  • Build strong relationship with other Operational Leaders of the Power Delivery District and foster effective team work between leadership and staff

  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders including the client, vendors and subcontractors

  • Identify, assess, and inform the District of internal and external issues that affect the business

  • Act as a spokesperson for the organization in community and industry activities to enhance the Wind community profile

  • Ensure safety and quality are prioritized throughout the division

Qualifications


  • 15 + years of experience in the Wind industry

  • 10+ years of prior experience serving as Project Manager, Design Manager, Director of Estimating, or Project Director of construction teams, where responsibilities include construction, engineering, estimating, contracts management, and client relations

  • Record of building and delivery of Wind programs

  • Extensive experience leading get work and build work teams for Wind projects

  • Experience managing Wind project valuing at $50M or more, including ownership of operations, project administration, client relations and all other scopes relative to large construction projects

  • Demonstrated client relationship experience

  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative

  • Strong work ethic and strategic leadership to get the job done right the first time

  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity

  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives

  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail

  • Competent in the use of computer software applications used for project control and administration, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook

  • Ability to travel as business requires

  • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship, both now and in the future
