We are recruiting for a Capital Modeling Manager, Enterprise Risk Management to join our team in Farmington Hills, MI.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Capital Modeling Manager, Enterprise Risk Management will serve as a key component of Amerisure’s risk analytics and strategic analysis efforts and will be responsible for overseeing several areas key to evaluating, quantifying and communicating company risk strategies to leadership.

The position will be primarily responsible for the oversight, design and execution of Amerisure’s dynamic financial analysis capital modeling process.They will provide analysis and recommendations to Amerisure leadership based on capital model output, risk measure quantification and scenario testing in support of operational and strategic planning efforts.

The position will also support Amerisure’s ERM leadership with the design, implementation, execution and communication of the company’s Enterprise Risk Management processes and framework designed to identify, monitor and mitigate Amerisure’s highest priority risks.   

As part of the ERM team, the position will engage and have familiarity with every part of the organization. Having an ability to develop and implement a vision for success while developing strong relationships built on collaboration and open communication is essential for success in the position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop and oversee the execution of a capital model program designed to support and advise Amerisure leadership on effective risk strategy using risk measures and stress tests


  • Effectively interpret and communicate complex analysis to leadership in an intuitive manner for use in strategic and operational planning activities


  • Coordinate and collaborate with several departments to develop efficient processes for model updates and more frequent analysis


  • Design and coordinate appropriate governance and validation processes for model assumptions to ensure agreement and consistent application


  • Assist with ERM Risk Identification and Assessment processes in collaboration with department leadership to identify highest priority risks


  • Assist with the update and reporting on company risk tolerance measurements


  • Assist with update the company Own Risk & Solvency Assessment (ORSA) Summary Report


  • Build relationships with business partners to collaboratively assess mitigation effectiveness for top priority risks


  • Serve as a member of the ERM Working Group


REQUIREMENTS:


  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, finance, accounting or related field.


  • Minimum 7 years of finance, actuarial, accounting and/or statistical analysis experience.


  • Knowledge of Statutory Accounting Principles and insurance company financial statement analysis.


  • Experience with economic capital modeling software, SAS or other statistical programming language, preferred.


  • Experience in the property and casualty insurance industry, preferred.


  • Knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management topics and concepts, preferred.


  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and/or Associate in Risk Management-ERM (ARM-E) designations, and/or completion of actuarial exams, preferred.


  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.


  • Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with ambiguity.


  • Ability to lead discussions, make presentations and deliver technical results to a non-technical audience.
