Job Description:

Chase is seeking career-driven individuals to become leaders in Home Lending Operations. The Underwriting Leadership Development Program is a 2-year rotational program where you'll learn the fundamentals of mortgage originations, while also training to become a leader within Chase. This program will focus primarily on underwriting with rotational assignments in other supporting functions such as Performance Management and Quality Review. During this program, you will have the opportunity to build your mortgage knowledge, network and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment in one of the nation's leading industries. Upon completion of the program, candidates will have received foundational underwriting knowledge supplemented by leadership development and operations management training, with the goal of securing a leadership position within our Underwriting organization.
In your initial role as an Underwriter, you will develop knowledge of residential mortgage underwriting, analyzing applications to ensure customers meet program and product specifications according to Chase credit policies, investor/agency guidelines and Fair Lending practices. You will communicate loan decisions (approval, suspense, denial) to the appropriate partners within JPMorgan Chase, meeting targets for productivity, quality and customer satisfaction. The subsequent rotations of the program will build on this underwriting knowledge, growing your expertise in production management and performance improvement.
Candidates should have:
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate well in difficult situations
• Strong negotiation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Capability to engage in video conferencing/ technology savvy
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Bachelor's degree required
• Must live in Phoenix, AZ or be willing to relocate
