The Courtyard by Marriott Newark - University of Delaware is an award-winning, newly-renovated hotel that requires a top-notch work ethic and stellar customer service. We are looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor that excels at adapting to change in the work environment, displays a positive outlook and pleasant manner, and communicates well with others. We are seeking a positive, organized leader with strong problem-solving abilities who can promote teamwork. Work shifts and hours vary, weekend and holiday hours required. The Housekeeping Supervisor's responsibilities consist of supervising, training, planning, scheduling work assignments, and monitoring daily tasks, inspecting rooms for compliance with established cleanliness, maintenance, and comfort as per the standards and assisting with cleaning (when necessary) to achieve optimum service to guests. They will also ensure all safety, security and Hotel policies/procedures are observed and that areas of responsibilities (keys, linen, supply closets and storeroom) are well-maintained.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employees is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with strong communication skills. High School degree or equivalent required. Prior hospitality/housekeeping/training skills preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills. Desire and ability to work within a diverse staff.
