The Process Technician I is the primary owner for the daily operation of injection molding machines, automation cells, robots, auxiliary equipment, and standard operating processes. Maintaining the equipment and process structure is critical to ensuring a stable, high quality production environment. To ensure work center production targets are met, the Process Technician I will perform molding machine start-ups, automation cell changeovers, and first article processes. Reviewing the production schedule, reading and understanding work orders, and performing quality audits throughout the shift are required to support the finished good production throughput.
Primary Responsibilities
Start up, restart, and monitor injection molding machines; size ranges 180T to 3200T
Start up, restart, and monitor automation cells; includes Fanuc robots, vision systems, assembly equipment, labelers, hot stamp machines
Program robots used to pick parts from molding machine
Set up and monitor auxiliary equipment used in the molding process such as thermolators, heater boxes, material loading system, etc.
Complete parameter audits to validate equipment is functional and running at standard specification; promptly report inconsistencies
Perform basic plastic process troubleshooting for minor defects
Identify processing inconsistencies caused by mold, machine, or material and properly report for repair/evaluation
Conduct Quality Audits (level III) to validate high quality finished goods are produced; report out of spec conditions and follow quality control processes
Complete portions of the First Article Verification sign off during new work order start up
Complete all required process documentation and system audits including 5S audits, quality audits, process audits, etc.
