We are looking for a Category Specialist to join our growing team!

The Category Specialist is responsible for managing merchandising programs, departmental reporting, store communications, and general merchandising duties.

Job Description

What Would You Do?

• Creates and maintains Merchandising Planograms in order to improve sales and meet vendor contract requirements.


• Communicates changes regarding new products, discounted items, price changes and discontinued items to the stores.


• Creates standard and ad hoc reports through the report writing system regarding sales, product performance, and pricing in order to recommend buy, discontinue, and price decisions.


• Manages and purchases store inventory related to assigned merchandise.


• Updates and maintains assigned merchandise availability and price changes on all National Vision Inc. websites.


• Communicates and promotes Associate Sales Contests to stores including the acquisition and distribution of prizes, and communication of results to stores.


• Set ups new and maintains existing assigned merchandise in the Supply Chain and Merchandising system and ensures the data is uploaded correctly into the company's Point of Sale system.

Qualifications

• Four year college degree, or equivalent experience


• 1+ years' experience in either merchandising/buying or inventory and replenishment.


• Must have strong Excel skills


• Vendor Management Skills.


• Retail industry experience is preferred
