The Broad Institute's Klarman Cell Observatory (KCO) is an effort to systematically define cellular circuits within and between cells in tissues to better understand health and disease. It builds on breakthrough technologies, such as single cell genomics, and on a network of collaborations that cut across scientific disciplines such as immunology, neuroscience and cancer.
The KCO is seeking a motivated Project Manager to work on diverse cutting-edge genomic projects with a large number of trainees, staff and collaborators. They will work to ensure the progress of innovative and sophisticated projects by managing these projects from design and conception to execution, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Principle duties and responsibilities
The Project Manager in the KCO will work with researchers as they develop their project plans and will be responsible for tracking and updating the various project plans and collaborations both within the Broad and externally with partner institutions.

Specific responsibilities include the following:

Facilitate and document and the definition of project scope, goals, and resource requirements and establishing an overall project plan

Meet with trainees, staff and collaborators to track progress of projects

Ensure appropriate communication with all project stakeholders regarding timelines and status, deadlines, data requirements, logistics and all other project-related issues

Track progress of key milestones, ensuring execution of key deliverables

Manage changes in timelines, deliverables and budget as needed
-
Book and coordinate 10x sample processing at the Broad's Genomics Platform

Ensure appropriate funds are in place and track financial status of all projects relative to available budgets

Facilitate project meetings to continually align the team around goals and communicate blocking issues

Take meeting notes, identify action items and track their execution

Work with the Compliance office to generate and maintain appropriate IRB
-
Ensure that projects and activities adhere to institutional guidelines with regards to safety and regulatory compliance
-
Support the upload and data access request process for sample sets available on the DUOS platform
-
Iterate and improve upon existing project planning processes
-
Communicate and escalate any high risk projects or lab issues

Skills
The Project Manager must have a demonstrated ability to work with a cross functional collaboration to effectively manage and deliver on project goals. Specifically, the Project Manager needs to possess the following:

* Ability to adapt plans and priorities to rapidly shifting goals
* A high level of initiative and the ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
* Be highly detail oriented
* Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence others
* Excellent time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills
* Handle a variety of tasks and effectively solve problems as they arise

Requirements
BS with 5+ of related experience, or Masters with 2+ years of related experience
