Position Description:
Experienced Production Supervisor in a unionized manufacturing environment needed. If you are a leader, with a strong mechanical aptitude and can get results through people then this role is for you.

The ideal candidate will be able to lead a team of experienced employees in a collaborative environment to exceed the expectations of a diverse and technical customer base.

Duties for this role are:
• Maintain an injury free and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all best in class safety practices, control points, equipment, and resources.
• Direct and coordinate activities of hourly workers operating a variety of machines used to produce high quality plastic compounds.
• Lead product development trails with customer technical representatives.
• Deliver results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring and appraising job results: coaching, counseling, discipling employees, enforcing policies and procedures.
• Provide process and mechanical leadership and troubleshooting as required..
• Maintain working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

Position Requirements:
Requirements for this role are:
• A minimum of three to five years of progressive supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing facility.
• Excellent communications (oral & written) skills.
• Strong Leadership, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interact with customers to solve problems and promote new business opportunities.
• Good judgement and the demonstrated ability to interact with hourly employees, union representatives, co-workers, and managers at all levels of the organization, along with outside vendors, lawyers, and consultants.
• Strong reasoning skills and ability to analyze problems, collect and interpret data, established facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Email.
• Knowledge of 5S and Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
