MS Power BI Lead

 

Requirement

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science 

7 to 10 Years work experience in the IT industry within a large technology team

5+years’ experience with MSBI coding

Experience in EDW design principles such as: requirements analysis, data mapping, transformations, SCD Type II, Star Schema.

Strong knowledge on MS Power BI tool along with profound knowledge on query writing

Strong systems skills especially in implementation, maintenance, enhancement and documentation

Proficiency in various office applications including Excel VBA  Macros, Word,  PowerPoint

Good understanding of Data warehouse and Data Lake

Must be organized, detail oriented and able to efficiently function under pressure and be able develop and present analysis and recommendations in a clear concise manner to various staff levels in the organization

The ability to self-motivate and take initiative with minimal supervision

Have the ability to effectively manage multitask operations and projects within deadlines

Demonstrated project management skills including meeting deadlines and experience with establishing and maintaining effective work relationships are essential

 

Responsibilities

Serve as lead in designing and developing ETL (MSBI) code for efficient and scalable data transformations in the Enterprise Data Warehouse 

Extend and maintain the EDW/Mart data layers – Type II SCD dimensions and facts

Work closely team members such as Data Analysts, QA and other ETL engineers to develop and release new capabilities as well as research technical requirements and resolve issues

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with data migration and transformation using MSSQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS

Ensure the quality, completeness, security, privacy, and integrity of data 

Implement code changes and follow CICD processes including code check in, code reviews, JIRA updates and releases

Source control experience preferably TEAMS Foundation Server (TFS) / Azure DevOps

Leverages industry best practices data transformation and processing techniques, tools and coding languages, data models

Participate in client calls and prepare the clarification list to seek clarifications

Prepare the list of requirements and seek review inputs from the key stakeholders

Update requirements traceability matrix

Create impact analysis document for simple change to understand the impact on the existing functionality as required
