Channel Contracts Manager

Responsibilities
Understand (i) Equinix’s business model and standard commercial contract documents, (ii) the different Global Channel Programs and respective documents and (iii) be able to explain and educate same to business stakeholders, Channel prospects, and Channel partners
Initiate, develop, maintain, and suggest improvements (e.g., simplification, automation, etc.) to existing contracting processes and procedures to (i) further support global scaling, (ii) enable the Legal Department to engage with the business in a more streamlined and organized fashion, (iii) allow business stakeholders to better faciliate and improve efficiency of transactions, and (iv) be able to explain and educate on those processes and procedures
Assist in review and revision of various channel agreements and documentation during negotiation
Lead or co-lead partner-facing negotiations
Work with Channel Program Executives to develop strategies and recommendations for Channel Program requirements based upon in-depth business and risk analysis
Assist with development and improvement of Partner Program templates and documentation
Communicate status of assigned contracts to business stakeholders to allow the business to remain proactive
Respond to inquiries regarding contract obligations
Identify when Channel contracts, negotiations, and interactions do not comply with Equinix policies, processes, and procedures and escalate as appropriate in instances of non-compliance
Work with One Legal and the Global Channel Organization to build trust and rapport between and among those teams to develop and maintain positive and prosperous relationships
Drive regional or global coordination with the Channel Program Team and manage key stakeholders as necessary
Cooperate, contribute, and participate in business team projects and meetings and serve as a representative of One Legal in such matters
Assist with acquisition-related Channel activity
Assist with any other Channel-related matters that may arise or be assigned
Qualifications
At least 5+ years of proven successful experience negotiating and drafting complex contracts, preferably in the data center industry with a demonstrated increase in responsibility preferred
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration preferred
Experience working in a culturally diverse and global company preferred
Commercial contracts legal knowledge required
Ability to work with and coordinate activities among a large number of individuals in various departments within Equinix’s global workforce
Proven track record of navigating a competing workflow, setting appropriate priorities with clients, and delivering results within agreed timelines
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and history of performing as a team player focused on solution and team building
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with external and internal customers
Exercise mature, professional, and reliable judgment
Must possess a healthy sense of humor
Execute an analytical approach to problem solving, risk assessment, and strategy
Proven ability to ‘issue spot’ based on extensive past work experience and formal training
Must be a highly-organized individual capable of multi-tasking and will be required to interact with personnel at all levels of management.
Have strong Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint skills
