Medline Industries, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Production Lead for our Sterile Procedure Trays Division located in Laredo, TX. The Production Lead is responsible for releasing completed work orders to next operation and supervises up to 10-15 people.
Responsibilities
Maintain and enforce 6S program as well as enforcing and training packers on company policy and procedures.
Assign packers to production lines.
Verify all jobs on hold, quarantined, or rejected and report to supervisor.
Review DHR per PS084, sign and date where applicable and forward DHR to Q.C. inspector. Separate sterile vs. non-sterile cover sheets.
Scan to release job to pre-quarantine or lakeside in a timely manner and send all applicable paperwork from DHR to inventory control (such as copies of requisitions, scrap reports).
Assist supervisor with miscellaneous tasks (such as get labels from printing room, pull folders from file room, make copies).
Assist supervisors in approving/disapproving time off for the packers.
Ensure packers are keeping workstations clear of all material from previous jobs. Responsible for or designate person to pack line down. Sign all cover sheets on the Comment line. Fill out all applicable forms such as but not limited to ECN'S, substitutions, Piggy back component form).
Keep and maintain inventory of packaging materials.
Communication with receiving and distribution departments to ensure material workflow.
Basic Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to use and apply basic computer skills such as email.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time as well as wearing steel toe shoes, bouffant cap, and face masks if needed.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability use hand jack and walkie
Additional:
Excellent organizational, planning, communication and follow-up skills required
Excellent presentation skills for large and small groups•
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Basic knowledge with AS400 systems
Relevant Work Experience:
Current experience in assembly/boxing room preferred and attention to detail
Ability to read, write and speak English with Good verbal and written communication skills
