The Maintenance Parts Clerk is responsible for providing operating departments with necessary supplies and parts as well as stocking and maintaining accurate storeroom inventory. This position will also be responsible for utilizing a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to manage inventories and order parts. The Maintenance Parts Clerk will be the point of contact for all parts requests and stocking.
Job Duties also include:
Receives incoming parts and supplies (stock/non-stock)
Count stock items and record date manually or using a computer
Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage in yard
Processes all materials, products, parts, equipment and supplies to customers, coworkers or manufacturing technical support in conjunction with PM (preventive maintenance) or repair schedule and coordinates walk-in requests. Ensure accurate input and output of inventory from CMMS
Create and maintain inventory location using the EAM or CMMS
Verify inventory computations by comparing against physical count of stock and investigate discrepancies, report results to immediate supervisor
Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools or other labeling equipment
Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage area in order
to ensure compliance with safety regulations
Determine and modify as necessary minimum order quantities of all parts and supplies
Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facility
Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, price lists, shortages, shipments, expenditures and goods used or issued
Maintain accurate records of damaged/used parts and process appropriate dispositions of the parts
Drive fork-lift equipment/truck in order to pick up incoming stock or deliver parts to designated locations
Provide information when communicating with Supervisors or co-workers by telephone, in written form, email or in person
Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, storage, yard or manufacturing workers
Dispose of damaged or defective items, or return the damaged or defective items to the vendor
Recommend disposal of excess, defective or obsolete stock
Performing general physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and whole body movements while handling stockroom parts
Coordinate with outside vendors on disposition of failed mechanical and electrical components
Assist with HazMat labeling and storage
Other duties as assigned
The required skills for this position are:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Intermediate computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Prior parts room experience preferred. Knowledge of maintenance work processes a plus.
Must be willing to work any shift and/or flexible schedules as required to support the workload
Must be willing to help in the manufacturing or warehouse areas as needed
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel toe boots/shoes and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
