The Senior Technical Operations Video Engineer plays a key role in the administration and support of key interactive video systems within Cox Communications. The position provides technical/development leadership, and direction to team members and peers responsible for the administration of Cox Interactive Video Systems. The position is also responsible for providing advanced video systems administration, incident management, service assurance, maintenance, and fix agent support of Cox Video on Demand, Switched Digital Video (SDV), cDVR, and IP Video. The engineer will serve to drive the development and support of current and future software platforms related to customer-facing video technologies. This role conducts expert-level troubleshooting and analysis, including code-level and diagnostic log analysis, and is responsible for handling the most difficult or advanced problems.

*Primary Responsibilities and Essential Duties:*
Working knowledge of software development and integration
Integrate various software components in a highly agile software development and delivery environment.
Develop and support automated continuous integration of software components by defining test suites and writing test cases and test scripts.
Responsible for video platform accountability and administration
Provides leadership and mentoring to junior staff members
Responsible for escalated support of Interactive Video Systems and video services
Performs systemic diagnosis, correction, and/or escalation preserving the Cox video customer experience
Provides software support to Application Development and Product Deployment teams
Acts as communications liaison to business partners (education and information)
Consults with Cox Engineering, Application Development and Operations Teams on software driven solutions
Supports continuous improvement efforts and lifecycle management of video platform
Lead platform restoration efforts for system wide video technology incident command
Performs platform maintenance to include daily back up activities, hardware upgrades, daily system health checks
Provides and develops systems health reporting, operations, and automated tasks (availability and reliability)
Responsible for software upgrades on all Interactive Video Systems.
Performs Administrator on-call support
Engage vendors, Engineering, and Application Development teams as needed
Engages in system change management process for collision avoidance and risk assessment
Leads projects related to the growth, maintenance or upgrade of Video On Demand, IP video, SDV, and Cloud DVR.
Oversees timely and accurate communication between Video Operations and all internal customers
Develops and implements training and MOP documentation
Ensures that technical problems are reported, escalated, and resolved in a timely manner
Actively seeks and evaluates opportunities for process improvement
Participates in meetings as required
Ensures the integrity of video back office technology through proactive maintenance, performance monitoring, trending, and reporting through exceeding SLAs and KPIs
Administration of software revision control, security patches, inventory systems, and associated databases

Qualifications: *Minimum:*
Excellent organizational, analytical, trouble shooting, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
Knowledge of open source development tools and frameworks such as Django, Rancher, Ansible, Jenkins pipeline.
Working experience with multiple software languages and libraries such as Python, Tensor, NumPy, Pandas, R, etc.
Knowledge of Internet Protocols, storage systems, systems security, and systems automation.
Ability to accommodate a highly flexible and varied work schedule
Ability to work well under pressure and commit to meeting strict deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with multiple departments to solve complex technical problems
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision or guidance

*Preferred: *
B.S. in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
Knowledge of Digital Broadband Distribution and IP Video delivery systems
Switched Digital Video, Video On Demand, Cloud DVR, and IP Video knowledge and experience
Project management experience
Experience in the deployment of advanced video networks and products
Understanding of Cox Video Systems and video applications
Working knowledge of IP Networking, TCP/IP protocols, Routing, Switching
Understanding and experience performing software development in a DevOps model
