Nemours is seeking a Pediatric Cardiac OR Nurse Manager  to join our team in Wilmington, DE.  This position would be 4 /10 hours days, based on department need.

DESCRIPTION

First assist, scrubs or circulates for cardiac surgical procedures under direct supervision of the surgeon.

Determines staffing decisions, call coverage, orders implants/supplies/instruments, enters OR patient charges, provides  orientation of new staff and completes yearly evaluations. Participates in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations and implementing actions as appropriate with the goals of the Nemours Foundation.

Essential Functions – These responsibilities are of utmost importance and the department can’t function without them First Assist, scrubs or circulates for cardiac surgical procedures under the direct supervision of the surgeon. Responds to and provides direction during emergency situations. Provides leadership and direction to patient care team members in accordance with organizational goals. Orients new hires. Orients CICU nurses to procedures at bedside Provides nursing coverage for procedures done in cardiac OR, CICU. Hybrid cases in Cath lab, PDA ligations at outlying hospitals and  Non- Cardiac/ Cardiac Anesthesia cases. Plans Cardiac OR Nursing schedule with 24 hour call coverage. Provides leadership and direction for interviewing and selection of patient care team members. Listens to staff’s suggestions and implements change if needed. Determines ways to provide the best patient care with the best staff satisfaction. Completess yearly evaluations and performance plans. Supervises coordination of equipment and supply purchases. Orders cardiac instruments, implants, disposables. Creates instrument set information in SPM. Maintains implant log and Cryofreezer with Blood Bank. Enters charges for cardiac procedures in Epic. Creates CDM and Lawson #’s for service. Works on special projects like build of cardiac OR rooms or implementation of Blue Bin Huddles with Cath lab Nurse Manager on a daily basis. Ensures the continuous assessment and improvement of quality patient care.

 REQUIREMENTS

Masters degree in nursing required or actively enrolled in masters program

Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania Nursing license. Perform procedures in all 3 states

CNOR/CRNFA

Must be an experienced Pediatric Cardiac OR Nurse

Experience in scrubbing, circulating and first assisting complex congenital heart procedures

First Assistant preferred
