Configuration Management (CM) is a systems engineering process for establishing and maintaining consistency of a product's performance, functional, and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information through changes and throughout its life. The CM process is widely used by aerospace/ military engineering organizations to manage changes throughout the system lifecycle of complex systems, such as airplane systems, military vehicles, and information systems.
This position is responsible for specifying, configuring, and maintaining configuration and design documentation for entire aircraft designs. The CM Engineer provides subject matter expertise and guidance during the planning, procedural generation/revision, and execution of change management.
The CM Engineer is comfortable working with a team of fellow certification oriented engineers & DER's, systems engineers, and other design engineers providing critical design, auditability of process and process controls through change management in ALM and PLM environments.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Coordination, tracking, and statusing the review and approval of changes to engineering, manufacturing processes and specifications associated with aircraft fabrication and assembly.
• Plans and authors procedures for the BETA team around change and quality management.
• Changeset Management for software and production in a certification/regulatory environment.
• System administration management and integration for key software systems used
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with both internal & external customers
• High energy, self-motived, organized and detail-oriented
