What you will do
Do you have a background as an Agile Coach in a start-up environment? Are you looking to leverage your leadership and influencing skills in a new position while making an impact in a brand-new organization within Johnson Controls?
You will be embedded within the team to undertake the key responsibilities around planning and delivery of our product development. You will focus inward on the team to ensure that they are running smoothly, functioning to the best of their abilities in an Agile environment, and delivery is at its optimum level.
How you will do it
Work closely with the Development Team to ensure that the team(s) is tightly coupled and engaged to deliver on the core intent of any Epics or Feature, delivering business value as efficiently as possible.
Collaborate with the Product Owners to drive the sequencing of the team(s) to ensure that there is enough work flowing from the Backlog into Discovery, then on to Build & Run.
Protect the integrity of the intent and/or business value of any features delivered by the team(s).
As needed, be the liaison between Product Owner and Development Team, when the feature aspirations are challenged by technology limitations or constraints.
Focus the team on the goals of the current Build & Run Iteration, keeping them on track.
Facilitate sprint planning.
Facilitate sprint review/showcase sessions.
Facilitate sprint retrospectives and ensure actions are addressed.
Facilitate team level backlog grooming sessions.
Drive team scrums to monitor work, find efficiencies, identify blockers and aid in removing blockers.
What we look for
Required:
10+ years’ experience as an Agile Coach/Scrum Master including proven experience as an Agile Coach in a start-up environment
Strong Agile Coaching experience
Experience with Agile methodologies that encompass the full software development lifecycle
Exceptional leadership and influencing skills
Background in enterprise-level transformation is key
Sound communications and stakeholder/vendor engagement skills
Commercial acumen and business-focused
Preferred:
Experience on a customer care/customer service program ideal
