Job Summary

This position involves the operation of an overhead crane to unload large pieces of glass. This will also involve material handling and general cleaning of the work area. In between deliveries, this individual may be asked to assist in the packing department.  The shift is typically 8am – 4pm but there could be overtime scheduled before or after the shift, depending on production needs. Employees are expected to work overtime if it is scheduled. There could also be an occasional Saturday scheduled, as needed. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•    Work with a partner to properly and safely unload stock glass from delivery trucks, using a remote-controlled overhead crane

•    Read and reconcile Bill of Ladings to actual product delivered

•    Open wooden crates of glass and move glass into production

•    Inspect glass for any defects

•    Control stock items by organizing glass to its proper location

•    Discard any packaging materials in a timely manner

Requirements

•    Must have at least one year of verifiable overhead crane operating experience 

•    Must be able to work with a partner to complete necessary tasks

•    Must be able to efficiently use a computer

•    Must have strong attention to detail

•    Must be self-motivated and able to stay busy during downtimes, or in between the delivery of glass products 

Physical Requirements

•    Must be able to lift 75 lbs.

•    Must be able to stand, bend, reach, stoop, push, pull and lift for extended periods of time

•    Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled facility 

•    Must have visual acuity to complete duties and responsibilities

•    Must be able to work in a noisy environment
