Job Description:

Manages day-to-day operations of a pharmacy operation. Plans, coordinates, directs, and participates in all activities related to the compounding, dispensing, delivery, receipt and handling of medications within corporate and regulatory guidelines. Works with the pharmacy management to develop policies, procedures and the business work plan for the site. Oversees production levels and service standards. Oversees hiring, training, and evaluation of staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Manages team of pharmacists and support staff. Works to develop employee’s skills, evaluates performance and provides feedback, and oversees resolution of employee relations issues. Oversees hiring and training of new pharmacists.

  • Develop, track and monitor pharmacist’s compliance to quality, service and production standards.

  • Works with pharmacy management to develop and communicate strategic business work plan goals. Tracks and periodically reports progress to senior management. Assists in budget development and compliance.

  • Works with management to analyze operations and efficiency of the pharmacy. Implements operational improvements and works to improve production levels and lower costs to meet corporate goals.

  • Represents pharmacy operations in cross-functional meetings and projects. Prepare for, implement and communicate new corporate initiatives and processes within the Pharmacy.

  • Provide support and backup for the director and team members during peak work volumes. Provide day-to-day employee scheduling in the pharmacy to accommodate business needs. Work with management to determine the need for overtime.

  • May facilitate tours for client visits. Special projects as assigned.

  • Run Front End Pharmacy Operations and Contact Center for the Immune Disorder Therapeutic Resource Center (TRC)

  • Alignment with Product and Account Management on strategy, then executing on that strategy

  • Deep understanding of specialty and it’s customers

  • Commitment to improving patient and physician experience

  • Dedication to continuous process improvements, quality, and efficiency

  • Fiscal knowledge and responsibility – focus on CTF

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • BA/BS in Pharmacy, RPh or Pharm D or degree in management or finance or equivalent

  • Five to seven years of experience supervising in a production area; two to three years in healthcare or PBM industry preferred

  • Current pharmacy licensure in good standing

  • PC skills including Microsoft office, email and internet
