The Health Services Director is responsible for directing health services for Educare of Omaha, Inc., and its early learning centers, overseeing the provision and coordination of health services to children and families enrolled in the program.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY TASKS:
Oversee the provision and coordination of health services to children and families enrolled in the program.
Provide indirect supervision to school health services staff in all program locations.
Work with community partners to provide screenings, referrals, resource fairs.
Coordinate training for families and staff,
Provide training and consultation to staff regarding health-related practices in the classroom.
Monitor health events for all Educare Omaha, Inc. locations.
Coordination of children's developmental services
In conjunction with program and partner staff, ensures that the program has established and maintains policies and procedures for safety practices.
Execute safety procedures ensuring required safety equipment and procedures are followed.
Hold health services staff meetings monthly or as needed.
Ensure process of completing all necessary paperwork regarding student developmental screenings and CACFP forms according to Head Start and State Licensing standards in a timely manner
Coordinate all Community/program events.
Serve as a member of the leadership team and is responsible
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in health services, nursing, public health, or related field required.
Minimum five years of experience in health services or related field required, or
Certifications and Licenses
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) preferred.
Valid Driver's License is required.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC Program Standards and Accreditation Criteria and Nebraska Department of Education Rule 11 and childcare state licensing requirements.
Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in a manner that demonstrates and fosters cooperation, respect, concern and openness to change.
Organization skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities.
Ability to collaboratively problem-solve.
Performs all duties in an ethical and professional manner.
Ability to type and perform data entry with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to operate a computer and office equipment, including, but not limited to word processing and spreadsheet software, a telephone, fax machine, and copier.
Ability to cordially correspond and establish supportive relationships with caseworkers, parent/guardians, staff, and students.
Ability to establish supportive relationships with staff and families from diverse backgrounds
Familiarity with community culture and knowledge of community resources and services.
Complies with all confidentiality regulations as required.
Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team as a cooperative and supportive team member.
Educare of Omaha, Inc. is a collaborative partnership between the Early Head Start/Head Start, Omaha Public Schools and the Buffett Early Childhood Fund.
