First line working leader over a small crew of personnel performing roof or floor truss assembly as well as engaged in the positioning of material in the assembly area for efficient fabrication of trusses which adheres to company production schedule.
Responsibilities:
Commitment to customer service for both internal and external customers, both in attitude and approach
Maintain the quality, productivity, and the labeling of the trusses produced according to assigned production schedules, complete assembly of needed trusses in order to meet delivery schedule of customer requests
Assemble trusses according to shop drawings correctly, matching lumber and plate specs for how truss is designed
Work in a safe manner, adhering to company safety policies and procedures, being mindful of your safety, as well as that of your build team and others in the plant
Ensures plates are sized, placed, and attached correctly prior to pressing
Upkeep of assigned crew’s working area, keeping areas clean and inventory organized
Receive shop drawings from crew leaders and write changes on drawings as needed, document daily completed work for Truss Crew Leader and Plant Manager
Responsible for training of new assembly personnel and maintenance of the team environment with their crew
Any other tasks as assigned by management
Must be a U.S. citizen or be authorized to work in the U.S.

Skills Needed:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to accurately interpret engineered shop drawings.
Ability to work well with others in a team environment
Leadership abilities – excellent communication, able to direct others appropriately, able to create team environment
Ability to recognize size, grade, and quality of lumber
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems, involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, a decimals. Ability to read a tape measure
Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Three to six months of sales experience.
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
