Requisition Summary

This key position within the Advanced Technology Evaluation Group will serve as a program manager with a strong technical background in the area of advanced technology at the PACCAR Technical Center.  The candidate will actively support our Department of Energy (DOE) funded programs which actively support the Advanced Technology Roadmap for future PACCAR vehicles.

Deliverables include; overall program management, planning, maintaining project schedules, budgets, , and reporting according to the PACCAR Technology Readiness Level Process.  Additional responsibilities include interfacing with truck divisions (Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF), Department of Energy, and work with external research organizations that are partnered with PACCAR.

Division Information

The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Interface with divisions and other partners to manage a large and complex technical program.

  • Perform a mix of technical and project management activities to execute technology evaluation.

  • Plan and manage research, and documentation according to PACCAR’s Technology Readiness Level process and DOE requirements

  • Actively monitor external research funding opportunities and initiate new applications together with technical specialists.

  • Negotiate with management, lab managers, and suppliers for resources, and test components.

  • Coordinate activities of technical specialists, support personnel, and suppliers.

  • Communicate program status to team, upper management and leadership on a regular basis.

  • Cooperate with cross-divisional counterparts.

Qualifications

  • 5 years applicable experience in a breadth of disciplines including electrical, controls, and mechanical engineering

  • Experience managing technical projects

  • Previously demonstrated Leadership

  • Previously demonstrated strong technical knowledge, analysis, and communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and resourcefulness

  • Be a self-starter and have demonstrated high levels of initiative and innovation.

  • Experience leading technical teams

  • Experience championing cross-divisional projects and other efforts

Education

Bachelor or Master degree in an appropriate engineering discipline and/or Master of Business Administration.
