Jet Stream Printer Operator

2nd SHIFT 3:00pm - 11:30pm 

 

Position Summary: 


Responsible for the coordination of print jobs for the continuous print process.  Releases Host jobs to printer, processes job tickets, and is responsible for print quality and alignment of text, color, MICR, etc.  Must be able to load roll stock and web printer. Responsible for system reports and replenishing of consumables as necessary.

 

Key Duties / Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for managing print jobs work in priority order, including prioritizing and selecting proper job setup.

  • Responsible for doing minor repairs, autonomous and preventative maintenance, to ensure printer runs effectively.

  • Responsible for initializing Canon service calls and inkjet alerts to leadership.

  • Responsible for completing shift production sheets, including the Jetstream/EMT activity log.

  • Responsible for performing to production standards.

  • Responsible for matching printed work against a proof for alignment, variable text and color.

  • Performs required quality checks; moves work from conveyor and prepares it for bindery.

 

Basic Team Member Functions:

 

Responsible for the daily operation of InkJet printer/EMT finisher, to include coordination of print jobs through PRISMA and Run File Manager.  Loads roll stock, manages job priorities, replenishes consumables, performs minor maintenance, and boxes and ships.  Responsible for system reports, as necessary, as well as the quality of the printed product.

 

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:


Various responsibility qualifications include ability to exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and/or frequently.  Occasional reaching and lifting; consistently fingering and grasping. Strength and manual dexterity needed to move objects and will be standing for duration of 8-hour shift.  Manufacturing environment.

 

Must be flexible and have the ability to work overtime and cover other shifts, sometimes on short notice.  Position frequently interacts with people from natural teams sharing data and/or information.  Performance Excellence qualities such as positive attitude, sense of urgency, enthusiasm, team oriented, commitment to excellence.  Communication is with internal and external customers.  Must have the ability to multitask.  Misc. other tasks as assigned by management, to include shipping and work cell support functions.

 

 

Education & Knowledge Required:   High school diploma or equivalent.  

 

Experience / Skills / Abilities Required:


  • Minimum of 1 year windows based program experience required.  1-3 years machine operation experience required, previous imaging and or printing experience a plus.

  • May be required to pass color testing.
