Job Description:

General Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the operation of all areas of Recreation including Pool, Beach and Marina, Kid’s Club, fitness center, playground, adult/family/youth activities, special events, holiday activities and group activities.


• Create new, unique and interesting recreation activities that draw upon the best cultural, sporting or other offerings of Key Largo and the Florida Keys.

Qualifications (Essential):

• Must have at least 2 years of recreation administration as well as supervising & creating recreation programs.

• The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional with a true passion for hospitality, excellent customer relations, problem solving and time management skills.  The Recreation manager will be result oriented, proactive with the ability to lead, motivate and improvise in all situations.

Essential Functions: (Include the following. Other job related duties may be assigned.)

• Oversee the smooth running of the recreations departments on a day to day basis to achieve the highest level of Guest Satisfaction


• To position the recreation offering as a point of advantage over other hotels.


• To have complete knowledge of the products and services offered by the hotel


• Ensure that all activities are performed in a safe environment, using safety techniques


• Train and assist in the evaluation of associates working in areas of recreation.  Supervise all team members helping with any activities or functions arranged via the Recreation Department.


• Monitor the success of the activities programs through the number of participants per scheduled event and through guest’s feedback.  Make necessary adjustments to maintain top quality, fun filled and original programs for hotel guests as well as groups.


• Be prepared to assume additional duties or responsibilities as requested by the General manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsible for overseeing the pool and marina and recreation associates and ensure the respective responsibilities and duties are completed and adhere to SOP’s and protocols.
