New England Biolabs (NEB) is seeking a Production Technician to assist the Fermentation team in cell lysis and clarification. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting all aspects of upstream processing including, but not limited to pilot scale cell harvest, cell disruption and equipment maintenance.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support manufacturing by working independently and as a team performing large scale cell lysis and clarification.
Operate production equipment: microfluidizers, disk-stack and tubular bowl centrifuges, heat exchangers, clean in place (CIP) skids, etc…
Assemble and disassemble production equipment as required.
Ensure that manufacturing processes are performed according to applicable SOPs using qualified equipment.
Maintain accurate records and generate reports as required.
Maintain a clean working environment.
Perform other related duties as needed.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
BS degree in microbiology, biochemistry, chemical engineering or related field.
Hands-on experience working in upstream processing environments.
Familiarity with upstream instrumentation and control software.
Ability to multi-task, be flexible, and to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional attention to detail and passion for problem-solving.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Familiarity using SAP.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, as required, to meet Production and Maintenance scheduling needs.
