Job Description:

 

The Registered Nurse (RN) performs safe and effective nursing care to all patients utilizing the nursing process. Responsible for injection of medications, contrast media, or sedations which the patient may require while in the Imaging Department. Responsible for monitoring patients during conscious sedation and all vascular procedures, biopsies, and drainages. As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vascular Imaging, some of your primary task and responsibilities will be to:


  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to volume, census and acuity.

  • Follow through with assignments and informs supervisor if unable to complete task.

  • Demonstrate responsibility and accountability in the performance and documentation of assessment, reassessment, individualization and prioritization of the patient's Plan of Care in accordance with the department standards.

  • Prioritize and delegate patient care activities based on accurate patient assessment and staff capabilities.

  • Utilize restraint with appropriate justification and documentation with regards to patient safety.

  • Evaluate patient's response to the Plan of Care, communicates to members of the health care team, and implements necessary changes to care based on patient assessment.

  • Demonstrates capability in assisting with emergency measures (code blue, etc.) until physician arrives.

  • Promote teamwork, work with multidisciplinary groups and facilitate problem-solving tasks, using critical thinking techniques.

  • Report and Document concerns/issues to Supervisor and Risk Management as indicated.

  • Demonstrate understanding and compliance with Advanced Directives, End of Life Issues, Hospice and Post Mortem care.

  • Ensure that all patients are welcomed and greeted upon arrival to unit as per individual department plan

  • Ensure that all patients transferred and discharged have paper work completed including medication reconciliation, patient teaching, delay in this process are communicated to patient and/or family.

  • Round hourly (or more frequently as needed) to reassess patient's condition and documents vital signs accordingly.

  • Identify role as a team member and works efficiently to achieve goals of team, department, and hospital.

  • Demonstrate to patients, family members, physicians, and co-workers courtesy and caring through customer service skills.(Utilizes the Standards of Excellence)

  • Demonstrate ability to communicate clearly, directly, and professionally. Does not participate in gossip. (Maintains and enhances self esteem, Listens and responds with empathy, Involves the customer)

  • Demonstrate professional behavior in actions and consistently portrays a positive attitude. (Maintains and enhances self-esteem, Listens and responds with empathy, Involves the customer).

  • Respect diversity of each individual (e.g. patients, families, physicians, and co-workers).

  • Manage conflict effectively and/or seeks appropriate assistance from the Director or HR to resolve conflict.

Qualifications


  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Florida or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions).

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification 

  • Associate (2 years) Degree required (ASN) required

  • Bachelor (4 years) Degree preferred (BSN) preferred


  • Minimum of two years of experience in Critical Care Nursing.




  • One year of experience in Vascular Imaging or ICU or Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology required.
