Job Summary – Trauma Program Manager, Trauma

Position Objective:

The Trauma Program Manager will serve as the day-to-day lead for the Trauma Program and facilitate the development, implementation, and organization of the program.

Essential Position Functions :


  • Supervises and evaluates overall Trauma Team performance

  • Maintains trauma registry and performs data collection

  • Demonstrates the unit-specific skills required for assigned role and service area

  • Coordinates and facilitates quality assurance activities relating to Trauma patients throughout the continuum (ED, inpatient, post-discharge).

  • Monitors resources and processes to ensure the Trauma care meets the needs of our patients and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitors clinical outcomes and quality of care to identify opportunities to improve care, trends and sentinel events; then reports this information to the Trauma Committee.

  • In collaboration with clinical and medical direction develops remedial actions to address improvement opportunities.

  • In collaboration with the Trauma Medical Director, ED Medical Director, ED Nursing Director, and other key stakeholders, develops the agenda for the multidisciplinary Trauma Committee meetings.

  • Responsible for the identification, documentation and facilitating resolution of process improvement issues.

  • Collaborates with hospital staff to develop facility-wide trauma education.

  • Coordinates Trauma educational programs for the institution as well as public education and prevention programs in the community.

  • Promotes internal and external customer satisfaction

  • Builds and promotes a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement

  • Works as scheduled and is compliant with Attendance and Tardiness Policy


Qualifications

Experience:


  1. Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in an emergency department or trauma ICU with demonstrated ability in trauma care

  2. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with providers and team members from various settings.

  3. Knowledge of State and National Guidelines of Trauma care preferred.

  4. Possess the ability to enter and manage data, create reports and documentation; demonstrated computer literacy (Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  5. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with providers and team members from various settings.

  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with excellent critical thinking, and problem solving abilities.

 

 

License / Education:


  1. Current RN license to practice in New Hampshire or RN Compact State License

  2. Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  3. BLS

  4. ACLS within 6 months

  5. Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within the first year.


  6. Tuition Reimbursement Program (up to $5,250/calendar year)
