Golder has a new opportunity for a Civil Engineer to join our team in a full-time position at our Jacksonville, FL office. You will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals supporting a variety of civil, oil and gas, and water resource projects.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide planning, analysis, design and construction expertise for civil and water resource engineering projects associated with landfills, oil and gas sites, power plants, mining sites or other sites as assigned. As a valued team member, you will participate in a wide range of engineering projects, from conceptual design and planning to detailed design of civil/water resource infrastructure.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Working with project teams on civil and water resource engineering projects
Performing engineering analyses such as:
Drainage and watershed studies
Stormwater management design
Site planning and grading designs
Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
Preparing erosion control plans
Preparing local, state and federal permit applications
Preparing reports documenting engineering analyses and civil designs
Preparing project design packages including technical drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates
Communicating with clients and developing scopes of work
Conducting stormwater management system inspections
Developing plans for and conducting field assignments, such as inspections, investigations, and construction monitoring
Preparing and implementing project health and safety plans
Required:
A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or an equivalent field of study
Strong analytical skills including the ability to complete engineering calculations and analyses
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work both independently and on teams
Comfortable working in remote settings
An active focus on health and safety for themselves and others
Preferred:
Relevant internship or co-op experience
Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling experience
Masters degree in related field
Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or the ability to complete the exam within 6 months of start date
