The Sr. Program Management will use appropriate methods, skills, and practices to successfully deliver enterprise wide internal and external facing programs centered within the productivity zone of Vertex. This program leader role will be overseeing large and/or multi-phased programs related to Vertex's overall operational strategy.
Essential job functions and responsibilities:
Responsible for providing both strategic direction and day-to-day management of a defined program
Works cross-functionally and collaborates closely with senior leaders to ensure achievement of targeted objectives.
Provides leadership and direction for cross functional team which may include multiple functional areas.
Develops and implements key goals, objectives, and success criteria for the program. Ensures proper documentation.
Defines the structure of the program and sub projects as outlined by the business requirements and budget process.
Participates in key planning of milestones and acts as a guide for the core program team from initiation through completion.
Works to identify and obtain participation from required cross-functional core team members, including matrixed project managers
Supports the budget and resource forecasting associated with the program and sub projects.
Tracks and manages the program schedule and task details included in the program plan.
Identifies, analyzes, and appropriately communicates program level risks and issues.
Identifies goals and successes criteria, drives the development and implementation of key goals, objectives, and successes criteria for the program with key stakeholders and core team.
Analyzes the actual performance against the plan and makes adjustments consistent with plan objectives. Works with key leadership teams to assist in action item identification and resolution.
Ensures program milestones are accomplished and business benefits are realized.
Raises conflicts and resolves with the appropriate level of management
Tracks and manages the program schedule and upstream and downstream dependencies.
Establishes contingency plans as necessary and has responsibility for communication and initiation of any changes to the plan.

EDUCATION, TRAINING:
Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent work experience and professional development
10 years business experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Project Management or related field, Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Cross functional experience, particularly across multiple business units
Experience on the business side with systems implementation and/or maintenance desired
Experience with one or more project management methodologies
