What you'll do:

The Group Vice President is a member of the Global Consulting executive leadership team and is responsible for supporting global strategy and operations in Professional Development, MP support, IT, Reporting, Analytics, Risk, Creative & Proposals, and the India COE. This role will provide thought leadership and strategic vision to drive the creation, iteration, automation and implementation of analytics, operations and MP support that meet Global Consulting Leadership goals and MCPs while leading the business operations and strategy for all Consulting. Additional responsibilities are related to supporting practice effectiveness, performance management, budget management and communications.



  • Overseeing and manage a global operations team with 50+ employees.




  • Leading a diverse team of top performing professionals and leaders through the strategic and day to day execution of the core operational functions within the Global Strategy & Ops team.




  • Set vision and direction to team to drive results and execution aligned to overall MCP for Consulting:




    • MP Performance and Coaching




    • Industry Programs




    • Variable Compensation Management (sales and revenues management)




    • Territory Planning




    • Delivery Operations (Booking and Engagement support)







  • Mentor, motivate and manage a team of leaders.




  • Leverage available data to identify problems and solutions to help practice leadership understand, strategize, make and execute better decisions that drive client and Gartner value.




  • Lead team to analyze financial and operational reports and data to identify trends and improvement areas as well as validate findings for practices to help increase the overall value and ROI for Gartner clients.




  • Act as the central governance point for all programs, processes, and tools that enable Consulting teams to drive growth and retention and ensure global consistency whenever possible related to operations.




  • Run ongoing evaluations of our operational process steps, associated productivity processes, programs, methodology and tools to drive retention and growth activities and prioritizing globally consistent iterations as needed.




  • Partner with senior leadership to perform necessary analysis, framing, prioritization, work scoping, planning and project management for innovations across GSO.




  • Support GSO budget and financial planning processes, and partner with Finance, HR and recruiting to ensure efficiency and adjust budget forecasts as needed.




  • Leverage India "COE" for GSO team to pull on for problem-solving and strategic support of all Operations and Consulting related programs, processes or workflow improvement.




  • Act as the advisor to other Consulting functions on how to implement new technologies, analytics, processes etc. and developing change management programs accordingly.




  • Drive a culture of continuous innovation and globally consistent standards.




  • Identifying problems and practical solutions before they affect performance or operational efficiencies.




  • Regularly presents at OC meetings to articulate GSO performance, contextualize change-related messages, decisions and actions for Consulting associates.




  • Understanding consulting mechanics and programs to deliver key insights and executable solutions to increase profitability and ROI and sales results (leading and lagging metrics).




  • Delivering key capabilities through reporting and analytics, dashboards, self-serve analytics tools and the successful execution of complex projects while driving continuous improvement in the business capabilities across Consulting leadership and Gartner as a whole.




  • Driving the strategic evolution of current capabilities while further expanding advanced analytic, data visualization and machine learning capabilities within Operations.




  • Driving adoption of standard set of metrics and dashboard adoption across Consulting leadership.




  • Increase operations team productivity, transparency and accountability.




  • Improve bandwidth and effectiveness of senior leadership and partner with them on their strategic and tactical issues (e.g., KI mapping, solutions launches, resource management modeling, agenda management, etc.)



What you'll need:



  • 15+ years progressive business experience, preferably in a strategy, operations or business consulting role, including 5+ years building and leading teams responsible for strategic operations, executive reporting and the development and deployment of global teams. Mix of consulting and operational leadership experience strongly preferred.




  • Bachelor's Degree required




  • Masters or MBA highly preferred




  • Excellent leadership skills, business acumen and ability to effectively manage, lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team




  • Results-oriented with excellent business vision and strategic thinking and a proven track record of solving complex problems, thinking creatively and successfully drawing the larger business story out of facts and data.




  • Strong knowledge of operations practices with a proven ability to establish trusted business relationships across business units, gain consensus and drive action from a large, diverse global set of constituents.




  • Ability to create infrastructure/framework to support strategies




  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and teams in a fast-paced environment and to inspire rapid adoption of change in a complex matrixed organization with distributed virtual teams.




  • Open to new perspectives and better ways to do things; be creative, visionary, and manage innovation well




  • Ability to prioritize & handle multiple requests concurrently and consistently deliver superior results in a timely fashion.




  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver compelling executive-level presentations. Excellent verbal & written communication skills with demonstrated ability to convey complex concepts and analyses in an accessible and compelling way.




  • One Gartner: ability to develop peer relationships across all business units within Gartner to leverage best practices
