JOB SUMMARY

The Materials & Process Engineer is part of an engineering team that develops additive layer based solid imaging systems. His/Her primary function is to create, develop and optimize print processes for materials for stereolithography products involving thermoplastic polymers, polymer blends & polymer composites.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS


  • Evaluate materials and full system integration to create and develop print processes to manufacture materials for use in products that must meet specialized design and performance specifications

  • Participate in the development, processing and testing of materials to create products

  • Develop and optimize new uses for known materials

  • Conduct screening experiments with the relevant stereolithography equipment

  • Independently test and analyze all analytical tests relevant to research and development


  • Create full-scope research documentation including routine laboratory entries


  • Heavily interact and collaborate with other engineers like mechanical, electrical & software engineers


    Education and Training

    Bachelors or M.S. in Materials, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Preferred

    Experience

    0 to 3 years' experience in a relevant Engineering discipline

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret all relevant job material and pertinent accounting literature; ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
    • Ability to formulate solid conclusions without direct supervision
    • Strong analytical skills to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
    • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for defining problems and obtaining solutions.
    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
    • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Solid skills in planning and organization with an ability to plan and manage multiple projects with attention to detail
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork and leadership abilities
    • He/she should also have an outstanding record in his/her discipline, creativity, productivity and problem solving skills
